Text Box: Results: CAD Model geometry used in conjunction with CTF (critical to function) detail drawings to generate prototype models and production injection molding tools Text Box: Stand Alone LCD & Keyboard (SALK) (can be used remotely or mounted to front of Rack mounted Computer) Text Box: Scope: Design a rugged enclosure to house a LCD & Keyboard, with a detachable cable using Mil connectors that could stand on it’s own to be used, or mounted to the front of a rack mounted computer that would be in the back of a military jeep/truck. Text Box: Military Products Text Box: Details: The LCD and Keyboard were used from an OEM commercial Laptop computer. The housing Top & Bottom were designed to be plastic injection molded parts They were both enclosed with sheetmetal covers. The (2) hinge blocks and covers were also plastic. All covers were gasketed with inlay o-ring. The top open position was locked into place via a knob mounted on a Tran-Torque. A multi-position prop support exists due to the LCD being top heavy.
