Text Box: Cable Strain relief; Similar to the Mold at the left, only this mold was made into an Aluminum block and instead of the Bizmuth I made the insert from Epoxy. I coated the master with mold release to allow removal of SLA model.
The Result was I was able to lay a cable soldered to (2) pin contacts in the mold, close it up and clamp it, then inject a plastic into it and produce an overmolded part.

In-SLA Prototype, Mold, Prototype Overmold/Strain Relief
Text Box: Cable Strain relief; This is a prototype mold I made by Modeling the finished part in ProE, then had a SLA model made, I then took (2) Oak blocks and doweled them together, I then pocketed the inside of the block, then using a Bizmuth material I poured it around the SLA, I then Machined it flush at the parting line. I repeated this for the other half.
The Result was I was able to lay a cable soldered to (2) pin contacts in the mold, close it up and clamp it, then inject a plastic into it and produce an overmolded part.
